7-year-old Aiyana Jones was killed while sleeping in her home by officers of the Detroit police departments Special Response Team during a raid of what appears to be the wrong dweling. As a journalist it is my duty to report the facts however’ this tragic ending of a young innocent life is quite painful to all of us who have hearts of understanding. A master soul once said’ there comes a time when silence is the enemy’ and I say that, that time is now. Though the Detroit police department may offer their condolences and ultimately their money there is still no way to fill the empty space that they have left in the lives of  Aiyana’s family and friends.

This incident takes me back to 1985, it takes me back to the MOVE People of  Philadelphia when c-4 was dropped on a row house and innocent children were consumed by the frustration of a police department who had no concern that they were in harms way. Please believe’ this is no opportunity for me to beat up on the Detroit police department, this is happening all over America and something must be done to change the climate of  hate.

If young Aiyana was sleeping in Iraq or afghanistan then I would understand the perils of  international conflict.Please’ somebody tell me why this innocent baby became a casualty of war here in America ?
