Baltimore’s Mayor Gobbles For Google

On Thursday March 11-2010  Baltimore’s Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake makes her pitch to bring the Silicon Valley Web giant Google to Baltimore. Amidst competition from scores of other cities’ Mayor Rawlings-Blake believes that her city already has what it takes to welcome Google into an excellent working relationship. Newly appointed “Google -czar ” Tom Loveland leader of Baltimore’s technology industry campaign notes that deployment cost  would be far less than reasonable for Google due to Baltimore’s own network of underground conduits already in place.

Google’s high-speed Internet service would bring a fiber network to homes and businesses 100 times faster than they currently use.Cities are racing to meet the March 26-2010 application deadline.
